To all Members,
In my report to the Membership at the January Meeting I informed those present a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) Meeting had been held in December, and the Contractors were requesting 32 new Apprentices in the future. I stated the Apprentice Coordinator, Bryan LaRoche, and Organizer, William Hincks would be contacting those Contractors who requested those future Apprentices to see if their projected workload still warranted the need for those future Apprentices. I informed the Membership it takes a minimum of one month to call the Apprentice applicant, have them fill out all the necessary forms, and have them perform a drug screening. I informed the Membership the Contractors present at the JATC Meeting all projected a large volume of work coming up in the near future. I also stated that this has been predicted in the past, and I would believe it when I saw it. At no time in my report did I state that any specific number of new Apprentices would be joining our Union on any specific future date. I did state the current list of Apprentice Applicants would be two years old this March, as the sign up for the current list was held in March of 2017, and I would like to see a sign up for a new Apprentice Applicants be conducted in the spring of 2019 as the current Apprentice Applicant list is nearly two years old and needs to be current. If any Member has any questions or concerns please contact me using the information listed below. Thank you.
