Labor Day Parade

The Southeast Side Labor Day Parade is on Saturday, August 31, 2019, starting promptly at 12pm at 112th & Ewing Avenue. Please review the following staging instructions, our attached line up, staging and routes maps. Sprinkler Fitters Local 281 has position # 49 in the parade.
Formation check-in begins at 9:30 AM and closes promptly at 11:30 AM on the day of the parade. Entries arriving after 11:30 AM will not be eligible to participate. There will be a check-in table at 4059 E. 112th St (Egger's Grove). Each unit is required to check in to receive an 'Entry number', which should be displayed on your vehicle's dashboard or unit.
Parking and Transportation: Secure parking will be provided for all parade participants. A shuttle bus will be running from 9:15AM- 11:30AM transporting participants from our designated parking area at Calumet Park (9801 S. Avenue G) to the staging area at Egger's Grove. You can find the designated parking area by viewing the map.
Dispersal: The Southeast Side Labor Day parade will disperse at Calumet Park (9801 S. Avenue G). Floats will not be allowed to turn right on E. 100th St. They must enter Calumet Park through the North Entrance at 95th and Ewing Avenue. Our parade will be accompanied by Eddie Fest, a one day Labor Day Festival powered by the Chicago Federation of Labor. Eddie Fest, honoring Ed "Oilcan" Sadlowski will take place at Calumet Park from 1:00PM-10:00PM and will feature live music, food trucks, drink vendors, a ‘Kids Zone’, silent disco, a firework show, and so much more! We will kick off Eddie Fest with words from Chicago Federation of Labor President Bob Reiter, Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Alderwoman Susan Sadlowski Garza!
