Illinois (COVID-19 EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 8) aka
“Stay at Home” Order
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Illinois' “Stay at
Home” order begins Saturday, March 21, 2020.
The Order makes exemptions to operate Essential Businesses and
Operations. Article 12 Section H of the Order states that Critical Trades must
continue to function. Sprinkler Fitters
Local 281 is a Critical Trade, therefore, members of Sprinkler Fitters Union
Local 281, U.A. may continue to work.
Members should report to work unless you are told by someone in an
official capacity or by your contractor not to report.
If you are laid
off, you should immediately file for unemployment benefits. The best time to file for unemployment
benefits is during the evening hours. You should file online at https://www2.illinois.gov/ides/individuals/UnemploymentInsurance/Pages/default.aspx
