The Trustees of the NASI Pension Fund have been meeting over the past month to discuss providing increases to the participants of the Fund. In their discussions, they were negotiating an increase in the dollars per credit for active members. I am pleased to announce that NASI Pension Fund Trustees have approved an increase of $25 per credit from $110 to $135 per credit. This increase will be applied to credits earned from 2005 forward. The credits earned prior to 2005 will remain $110 per credit. The increase in the dollars per credit will be applied only to members who retire and collect their pension after January 1, 2021.
Members who retired prior to January 1, 2021 will receive a one-time increase in the amount of a 13th pension check. The 13th check is expected to be sent to the retired members in early summer 2021.
This is a huge accomplishment considering the Fund’s difficult financial position in recent years.
An official announcement will be coming within the next few weeks from the NASI Pension Fund office.
