Over the Counter Covid Test Information

On January 10th, the federal government issued guidance to clarify that individuals who purchase over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests during the COVID-19 public health emergency period will be able to seek reimbursement from their group health plan.
This guidance requires group health plans to provide coverage without cost-sharing requirements, prior authorization, or other medical management for OTC COVID-19 tests (without a physician’s order or prescription) purchased on or after January 15, 2022.
