The next regular monthly meeting of Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 281, U.A. will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Local 281 Union Hall, 11900 S Laramie Avenue, Alsip, IL. 

The new Collective Bargaining Agreement was ratified on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Please find new language in 10 Articles, and two new Articles.  Article 7 has language regarding work on a day before or a day after a holiday. This new language could be utilized with the upcoming 4th of July holiday. All wage increases will be retroactive to July 1, 2024. 

The Collective Bargaining Agreement signed July 1, 2024, calls for a $4.50 per hour Economic Increase effective July 1, 2024. Motions will be taken from the floor for the allocation of this increase, and then voted on by the eligible members present. All Journeyman members, 4th year and 5th year Apprentices in good standing will be eligible to vote on the allocation of the economic increase. 

The proposal receiving the most votes will be effective July 1, 2024. The Members and Signatory Contractors will be notified of the results. 

The Pay Day Savings Plan has been discontinued, the deduction to be reallocated to wages. 

Nominations for the available office of Business Representative of Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 281, U.A. will be accepted from the floor at the regular (rescheduled) monthly meeting on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sprinkler Fitters Local 281, U.A. Union Hall, 11900 S Laramie Avenue, Alsip, IL 60803. The officer elected in the September special election shall fill the unexpired term of office.
Additional information regarding the election will be provided in a separate notice mailed to All Members prior to the election.
